This one’s for for the culture vultures out there! Get into the authentic spirit of Bali and shop at the island’s main and largest traditional market. The two markets are often regarded as one, as they are right next to one another. Badung Market is where you will see all the locals from all over the islands selling fresh fruits, meats, spices and groceries whereas Kumbasari market is great for souvenir shopping – pick up beautiful batiks, wooden carvings, paintings and jewellery.

BIASA+ has earned itself a bit of a name in Bali for being an iconic fashion and arts brand. But not only that, they now host the BIASA+ Market in their lush garden twice every month on Fridays. You are invited to come and get your fix of organic veggies and fruits, grab a healthy lunch, listen to the DJ, band or singers and mooch around the different array of local vendors. Sanur Sunday Market, Sanur
On the last Sunday of each month, you’re invited to beautiful sanur for a day out filled with eating, drinking, shopping and listening to feel-good music. Samadi Sunday Market, Canggu
Samadi Bali is not just for the yogis! Every Sunday, from 9am to 2pm, it is packed to the brim with expats and locals browsing the fresh food and artisan goods on offer. If you want to support the local community, this vibrant and organic market is the one to go to. Pick up fresh fruit and veg, fish, chicken, goat’s cheese, plus homemade natural cosmetics. You can even pick up some vintage clobber to don next weekend when you do it all over again!

Moksa Ubud, Ubud
Moksa Ubud is a restaurant that takes healthy food seriously. Not only do they have a restaurant, a permaculture organic farm, a Dojo workspace and a deli, but they also have a Saturday farmer’s market where you can pick up some organic produce and artisanal goods from their gardens and other farmers. Old Man’s, Canggu
Another market gem in Canggu, but this one only happens once a month (on the last Saturday of each month). Old Man’s transforms into a treasure grove full of unique and one-of-a-kind clothes, bikinis, shoes, bags, leather goods, and more. Word of warning: it gets hot rifling through all the goodies, but there are plenty of refreshing drinks and snacks to buy to keep you going – plus there’s always the beach directly in front if you need a break for shopping. Shop, eat, drink, chill, repeat!

Love Anchor is a popular spot in the hip ‘hood of Canggu – not just for its awesome location on Batu Bolong, speedy wifi and organic coffee, but also for its fab market! It’s hard not to be drawn in by the disco beats playing and sure enough you have spent all your rupiah on unique vests, beautiful jewellery, and cool sunnies! A great place to pick up some independent-brand apparel.

Jimbaran Fish Market
Many times have we hopped on our scooter and travelled to Jimbaran for fish supplies! If you are hosting a BBQ and want to get some fresh and cheap fish, this is the place to go. They have everything, from mahi mahi to prawns, and not forgetting the delicious seasonings [that come in little plastic bags]. Whilst you are here, spend half an hour taking in the sights around you [if you can handle the smell!].

The Oberoi Flea Market, Seminyak
This is a compact but popular market close to Seminya Village(and less than a 10 minute walk from Sisterfields) with goods you don’t see on every street corner: fab leather goods, fab embroidered dresses, unique sarongs and cute baskets and bags. Great find.
